1. Overview

Qooee Contacts helps you create, organise, share, and keep professional contact details up to date.

This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, how we share it, and the choices you have. If you do not agree with this policy, do not use the App.

2. Information we collect

We collect information in three broad ways: what you provide, what is collected automatically when the App and service operate, and what is collected only when you enable specific features or permissions.

a. Information you provide

  • Account information: information used to create, authenticate, and manage your account, such as your name, email address, sign-in provider, and provider account identifiers.
  • Your Qooee profile and cards: details you choose to store as your own contact card or card views, such as name, role, organisation, phone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses, links, birthday, and profile image.
  • Contacts you add or import: names, organisations, roles, phone numbers, email addresses, postal addresses, links, birthday, notes, images, and other fields you choose to store.
  • Connections, invitations, reports, and blocks: information needed to send or receive connection requests, maintain trusted connections, report safety or privacy concerns, and block other users.
  • Subscription information: limited App Store subscription information, such as product identifiers, entitlement state, renewal or expiry status, and transaction identifiers. Apple processes your payment details.
  • Support and communications: messages you send to support and any information you include.

b. Information collected automatically

  • Identifiers: identifiers needed to operate the App and service, such as your Firebase user ID, linked sign-in provider identifiers, app account token, app instance or installation identifiers used by integrated SDKs, and App Store transaction identifiers.
  • Device, app, and request information: information such as device model, operating system version, app version, language, time zone, IP address, and server request metadata when the App communicates with Qooee services or integrated providers.
  • Operational and security logs: records used to authenticate requests, prevent abuse, debug errors, process account and billing events, and maintain service reliability.

The current iOS production build does not include Firebase Analytics, Firebase Crashlytics, Firebase Cloud Messaging, Firebase Performance, Sentry, Mixpanel, Amplitude, or another dedicated production analytics, crash-reporting, or push-notification SDK.

c. Information collected with permissions you control

The App asks for permission before accessing protected device features:

  • Contacts: if you choose to import contacts or enable Apple Contacts sync.
  • Camera: if you choose to scan a Qooee QR invitation or sharing code.
  • Photo library: if you choose an image for your profile or a contact card.

You can revoke device permissions at any time in iOS Settings.

The current iOS production build does not offer business card scanning, Microsoft sign-in, push notifications, or a contact export feature. If we add those features, we will update this policy before or when they become available.

We do not collect precise location unless you enable a location-based feature in the future. If we add one, we will request permission and update this policy.

3. Sign-in providers

You can sign in using supported third-party identity providers, currently Sign in with Apple and Google Sign-In.

When you use a third-party sign-in option:

  • we receive basic account information from the provider, typically a stable user identifier and, depending on the provider and your settings, your name, email address, and profile photo;
  • we do not receive your password;
  • we use this information to create and secure your account, prevent fraud, support account recovery, and let you manage linked sign-in methods.

You can usually revoke third-party sign-in access through your account settings with the relevant provider.

4. Information about other people

If you upload, import, sync, or store someone else’s contact details, you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to do so.

We treat contact information about other people as content you control, stored so you can use the App.

5. How we use information

We use information to:

  • provide and operate the App, including account creation, authentication, syncing, contact storage, sharing, reporting, blocking, support, and subscription entitlement checks;
  • enable connection features that keep contact details up to date between connected users, subject to each user’s settings;
  • import contacts and optionally sync selected Qooee contacts with Apple Contacts when you enable those controls;
  • improve data quality, such as formatting, deduplication, and merge or conflict handling;
  • maintain safety and integrity, including preventing abuse, spam, fraud, and unauthorised access;
  • provide support and respond to privacy, safety, billing, or account requests;
  • debug errors, maintain service reliability, and test service changes;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.

We may use aggregated or de-identified information for analytics and product improvement. We do not attempt to re-identify de-identified data except as permitted by law.

6. Connections and sharing

Qooee Contacts supports sharing contact updates between people who are connected in the App.

  • If you choose to connect with someone, your shareable contact details may be shared with them, and updates you make may be reflected for them, subject to your settings and theirs.
  • You can disconnect from or block other users using in-app controls.
  • We do not publish your information publicly by default.

Exact behaviour depends on the features you enable and your in-app settings.

7. How we share information

We may share information:

  • with service providers who help us operate the App, such as cloud hosting, database, authentication, email delivery, customer support, billing, security, and operational tooling providers;
  • with sign-in providers when needed to authenticate you or manage linked sign-in methods;
  • with Apple for App Store subscriptions and in-app purchase processing;
  • with other users only as described in section 6 and controlled by your settings;
  • for legal reasons, such as responding to lawful requests, protecting rights and safety, or investigating misuse;
  • in a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, financing, restructure, or asset sale.

We do not sell personal information in the conventional sense. We do not share personal information for third-party behavioural advertising without your consent.

8. Third-party services

The App and service may rely on third-party services, including Apple services, Google Sign-In, Firebase Authentication, cloud hosting, database services, and App Store in-app purchase services. Their processing may be governed by their own privacy policies.

If you purchase a subscription through Apple in-app purchase, Apple processes payment details. We receive limited information such as subscription status, product identifiers, renewal or expiry status, and transaction identifiers.

9. International transfers

We may process and store information in countries other than where you live, including where our service providers operate. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.

10. Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the App and for legitimate business or legal purposes.

Typical examples:

  • account and contact data is retained while your account is active;
  • reports, blocks, safety records, deletion records, subscription events, and operational logs may be retained as needed for security, fraud prevention, audit, billing, dispute resolution, or legal reasons;
  • local data on your device may remain until you delete the App, clear local data, or request account deletion with local clean-up enabled.

You can request deletion as described below. Some information may be retained where required by law or for safety, fraud prevention, billing, audit, or dispute resolution.

11. Your choices and rights

Depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing.

You can also:

  • revoke Contacts, Camera, and Photo Library permissions in iOS Settings;
  • control sharing, connections, blocks, Apple Contacts sync, and local data choices in the App;
  • disconnect supported sign-in providers where another sign-in method remains available;
  • manage or cancel Apple subscriptions in your Apple Account subscriptions;
  • request account deletion in the App via Settings > Delete account, or by contacting hello@qooee.net.

The in-app deletion flow asks you to confirm recent authentication, explains what Qooee controls, lets you choose whether to remove Qooee local data from the device, and submits a deletion request to Qooee. After the request is accepted, Qooee signs you out and processes deletion of the Qooee account record and personal data controlled by Qooee as soon as possible.

Deleting your Qooee account does not cancel Apple billing, does not remove Apple Contacts entries on your device unless you separately remove them, and does not delete records another user independently stores.

We may need to verify your identity before fulfilling requests.

12. Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards designed to protect information. No system is perfectly secure.

13. Children

The App is not intended for children under 13, or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

14. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. If changes are material, we will provide notice in the App or by other reasonable means. The effective date above shows when it was last updated.
