1) overview
Qooee Contacts helps you capture, organise, and keep professional contact details up to date.
this policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
2) information we collect
we collect information in three broad ways: (a) what you provide, (b) what we collect automatically, and (c) what we collect when you enable features or permissions.
a. information you provide
- account information: information you provide when you create an account or sign in, such as name and email address.
- your qooee profile (optional): details you choose to store as your own shareable contact card (for example, name, role, organisation, phone, email, address).
- contacts you add: names, company, role, phone numbers, emails, addresses, and other fields you choose to store.
- business card capture: card images and text extracted from them (if you use scanning features).
- support and communications: messages you send to support and any information you include.
b. information collected automatically
- usage data: interactions with the app (for example, feature usage and basic event counts).
- diagnostics: crash reports, performance data, and error logs.
- device and app information: device model, os version, app version, language, and time zone.
- identifiers: an app instance identifier, and push notification token (if you enable notifications).
c. information collected with permissions you control
the app will ask permission before accessing:
- contacts: if you choose to import, sync, or export contacts.
- camera: if you scan business cards or capture images.
- photos: if you upload card images from your library.
- notifications: if you enable notifications.
you can revoke permissions at any time in ios settings.
we do not collect precise location unless you enable a location-based feature in the future. if we add one, we will request permission and update this policy.
3) sign-in providers (apple, google, and microsoft)
you may be able to sign in using third-party identity providers such as sign in with apple, google sign-in, and microsoft sign-in (microsoft entra id / microsoft account).
when you use a third-party sign-in option:
- we receive basic account information from the provider, typically a stable user identifier, and depending on your provider and settings, your name, email address, and profile photo.
- we do not receive your password.
- we use this information to create and secure your account, prevent fraud, and support account recovery.
if we store authentication tokens (for example, refresh tokens), we store them securely and only for as long as needed to provide sign-in and account access.
you can usually revoke access via your account settings with the relevant provider.
4) information about other people
if you upload or store someone else’s contact details (for example, by importing your address book or scanning a business card), you are responsible for ensuring you have the right to do so.
we treat this contact information as content you control, stored so you can use the app.
5) how we use information
we use information to:
- provide and operate the app, including account creation, authentication, syncing, and saving contacts.
- scan and extract business card details and help you review extracted fields.
- enable connection features that keep details up to date between connected users (see section 6).
- improve data quality, such as deduplication and formatting.
- maintain safety and integrity, including preventing abuse, spam, and fraud.
- provide support and respond to requests.
- improve the app, including debugging, analytics, and testing.
- comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms.
we may use aggregated or de-identified information for analytics and product improvement. we do not attempt to re-identify de-identified data except as permitted by law.
6) connections and sharing
Qooee Contacts can support sharing of contact updates between people who are connected in the app.
- if you choose to connect with someone, your shareable contact details may be shared with them, and updates you make may be reflected for them, subject to your settings and theirs.
- you can typically disconnect or block other users using in-app controls.
- we do not publish your information publicly by default.
exact behaviour depends on the features you enable and your in-app settings.
7) how we share information
we may share information:
- with service providers who help us operate the app (for example cloud hosting, database services, email delivery, customer support tooling, crash reporting, and analytics). they are authorised to process data only to provide services to us.
- with other users, only as described in section 6 and controlled by your settings.
- for legal reasons, such as responding to lawful requests, protecting rights and safety, or investigating misuse.
- in a business transfer, such as a merger, acquisition, or asset sale.
we do not sell personal information in the conventional sense. we do not share personal information for third-party behavioural advertising without your consent.
8) third-party services
the app may rely on third-party services (for example apple, google, and microsoft identity services, and infrastructure providers). their processing may be governed by their own privacy policies.
if you purchase a subscription through apple in-app purchase, apple processes payment details. we receive limited information such as subscription status.
9) international transfers
we may process and store information in countries other than where you live, including where our service providers operate. where required, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
10) data retention
we keep personal information only as long as needed to provide the app and for legitimate business or legal purposes.
typical examples:
- account and contact data is retained while your account is active.
- diagnostics data is retained for a limited period for stability and security.
you can request deletion as described below. some information may be retained where required by law or for safety and dispute resolution.
11) your choices and rights
depending on your location, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or export your personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing.
you can also:
- revoke permissions (contacts, camera, photos, notifications) in ios settings.
- control sharing and connections in the app.
- request account deletion via the in-app account settings (if available) or by contacting hello@qooee.net.
we may need to verify your identity before fulfilling requests.
12) security
we use reasonable administrative, technical, and organisational safeguards designed to protect information. no system is perfectly secure.
13) children
the app is not intended for children under 13 (or the minimum age required in your jurisdiction). we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
14) changes to this policy
we may update this policy from time to time. if changes are material, we will provide notice in the app or by other reasonable means. the effective date above shows when it was last updated.
